For democracy to be widely accepted by the people on Planet Earth, proponents of democracy must have good and acceptable reasons why the democratic form of governance is a necessity for the people or why it is preferred over all the other forms of governance.

Democracy as the Rule by the People is the nature consequence of the Sovereignty of the People. In other words, the people rule simply because the sovereign powers of the country belong to them. The sovereign powers of the country belong to the people simply because the people are the owners of the country. However, there are people who dispute that the country belongs to the people. So we shall discuss this topic, ‘To whom the country belongs’ at another thread in this forum: http://tdcommunity.org/viewtopic.php?t=25

If you believe you have any other good reasons in favour of democracy, do post them here for the benefits of the readers.
